HELP - Harrogate Easier Living Project
This project helps vulnerable people to stay independent in their own homes. The scheme is supported by North Yorkshire County Council Adult and Community Services Directorate. The scheme enhances the activities of Opening Doors for Disabled People and Help at Home and, with the help of volunteers, offers practical and flexible support such as:
- One-off cleaning, including washing curtains, to help cleaning to be kept under control and encourage a ‘fresh start’
- Moving light furniture within the home
- Support in clearing out, packing, unpacking and arranging possessions after relocating
- Occasional list shopping during periods of particular frailty or bad weather
- Additional small DIY tasks as required
