Help at Home
Help at Home is a gardening, decorating and basic repair service. The scheme now has two branches which cover the whole of the Harrogate Borough.
All the tasks are carried out by volunteers with a supporting supervisor. Priority is given to older people and people with disabilities who can no longer manage to carry out the tasks themselves, have no family help and can not afford a professional service.
If you fall into our priority groups we may be able to help you as follows:
- Gardening, general tidying up, lawn mowing, hedge cutting, etc.
-
Decorating, painting, papering
-
Basic repairs
-
Do it Yourself tasks.
Help at Home does not make a charge, but welcomes donations from clients. All donations are re-invested into the scheme to help with running costs, purchase equipment and support volunteers.
Help at Home always welcomes new volunteers. Our volunteers are not necessarily professionally trained in gardening and decorating but enjoy practical work and come from a variety of backgrounds and from a wide age range. Volunteer training is provided and useful skills are picked up on the job! References are taken for all volunteers who are also vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau. If you are interested in finding out more about volunteering with us please contact us via email, or telephone.
