Instructor – Horticulture
7.6 hours ( 1 day)
5 weeks Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays pro rata
£7.41 - £8.13 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)
Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre provides training and work experience in arts and crafts for over 90 disabled people, most of whom have a visual impairment. The Centre is a vibrant arts environment for the whole community.
We require an enthusiastic, innovative Horticulture Instructor to assist and supervise small groups of Service Users, most of whom have a visual impairment/ other disabilities, at our vibrant Arts and Crafts Centre in Knaresborough.
Main responsibilities will include delivering practical horticulture related sessions in order to maximise the skills and talents of the service users and volunteers, maintain dedicated outside areas; currently comprising the Green House, Sensory Gardens and Kitchen Gardens, and to reflect contemporary horticulture developments/trends within the area.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in an Arts or Horticulture related subject and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of people with learning difficulties. Experience of working in an Adult training setting would be desirable but not essential.
