Harrogate's "Year of the Volunteer"
The new Mayor of the Borough of Harrogate, Councillor John Fox, has declared that his year in office will be "The Year of The Volunteer". We are very excited at the news and are fully committed to supporting this initiative. If you've ever thought about Volunteering, why not contact us or search our database now so we can help you find the right opportunity for you - and who knows, you too could be doing something amazing in our local community and be part of the "Year of the Volunteer" . About Harrogate and Area Volunteer Centre:
The Volunteer Centre is an integral part of Harrogate CVS. We have recently achieved full marks from Volunteering England in the latest Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation round.
The Volunteer Centre encourages individuals to volunteer and helps them find a suitable role - click here for our most recent vacancies or click here to search all our opportunities
We provide advice and support to local organisations and community groups who involve volunteers in their work
Increasingly, businesses are looking for ways to develop their corporate social responsibility and the volunteer centre is able to work with companies who wish to develop a volunteering programme – encouraging individual employees to contribute locally, or through team projects in the local community.
The Volunteer Centre is open Mon, Tues and Thursday, 9.30 am - 4.30 pm, and Wednesday and Friday 9.30am - 12.30pm . An answerphone service is available at all times.
Are you an individual wanting to give some time?
Are you an organisation that recruits and involves volunteers?
Are you a business wanting to contribute to your community?
Hundreds of people in our community give just a little time to make an enormous difference. Thank you to everyone in the Harrogate area (and everywhere else for that matter) who do things for other people, for our community and for the environment!
It has been said that "The highest reward for a persons work is not what they get for it, but what they become because of it." If you would like to read about how some people in our community have gained surprising rewards from volunteering then click here
